Atlanta Roller Derby Announces Golden Glide as New Home Venue for Home Bouts

The city's competitive roller derby league will now play games at Decatur's historic, mainstay skating rink.

ATLANTA (July 27, 2026) — Atlanta Roller Derby is proud to announce that beginning Aug. 22, the league's home bouts will officially be held at Golden Glide, one of Atlanta's most iconic skating destinations.

Georgia's premier flat track roller derby league has entered a partnership with Golden Glide, creating a long-term home for the league while strengthening opportunities for the skating community. Atlanta Roller Derby's ultimate goal is to build a sports complex to house its bouts, practices and events, and this new relationship will establish that foundation. 

This exhilarating and mutually beneficial partnership brings together two long-standing parts of Atlanta's vibrant skating community, creating an entry for fans, families and athletes to experience the excitement of roller skating in one place. Atlanta Roller Derby will only move its competitive bouts to Golden Glide currently; the league will continue training at its practice facility in Mableton through the remainder of 2026.

Golden Glide will continue operating its regular public skating sessions and community programming. On Atlanta Roller Derby bout days, the public skating schedule will shift slightly to accommodate league events.

This move provides Atlanta Roller Derby with a dedicated home for competition while introducing roller derby to new audiences in a venue already beloved by skaters throughout the region.
