The Loyal Order of Retired Derby Skaters
Hanging up one’s skates does not mean the end. A derby skater is will always be a derby skater no matter how many years pass since they last laced up. Informally referring to themselves as LORDs, these folks are bonded by the time they spent on the track and the work they did during their tenure that helped grow the league during their time. For some, derby is never over - it just changes. They re-engage as coaches, trainers, announcers, juniors coaches, or just superfans screaming from the stands (because they actually know what is going on)! Praise the LORDs!!
