Since our founding in 2005, Atlanta Roller Derby has operated without a permanent home of our own, moving between rented spaces for practices and competing to book venues for our games. ARD is currently in the process of buying a new space and permanently moving all of our programming — training, practices, home games, and Atlanta Junior Roller Derby — under one roof.

The venue is Golden Glide, a historic, iconic rink in Southwest DeKalb County that has anchored Atlanta's skating community since the 1970s. As a bonus of securing our own home, this purchase also protects Golden Glide itself from the kind of redevelopment that has closed rinks like it across the country.

Last year, you all answered our call and contributed over $125,000 of the down payment that got us through the doors at Golden Glide. We cannot thank you enough. But our needs are only getting bigger. And they will continue to grow.

ARD is launching the Save Our Skates campaign to raise $75,000 to complete the purchase of Golden Glide and secure the league’s future in our new home. Contributions will maintain ARD’s current operations, fund our upcoming 2027 season, and support our mission to become a home for Atlanta's vibrant skating community.
